Highlights from the 2015 Vegan Beer and Food Festival

This May was the 6th annual Vegan Beer and Food Festival. This is my favorite yearly vegan event. This was our third year attending and definitely my favorite so far. The festival was previously held across the street from The Roxy but was moved to the Rose Bowl this year.  I must say it was awesome to see the giant beer best banners hanging from such a recognizable venue. Attendee tweets and Instagram pics were also being displayed on a giant screen in inside the stadium which was as nice touch. The added space made it much easier to walk around and it seems like there were more vendors this time around. Another perk of the new venue was space for VIP lounge with private bathrooms and a VIP area on the lawn.

Mardi Gras Dinner

The post is a little late but I had to share anyway. In February, we attend a Mardi Gras themed dinner at Mohawk Bend. The Dinner was hosted by chef Bryant Terry and included a book signing for his late cook book called Afro Vegan.

Highland Park- Emerging Vegan Destination

A few months ago I had never even heard of Highland Park. From what I've heard, it wasn't also the nicest or safest place to visit. However, this little neighborhood has recently had an influx of vegan friendly establishments. HP is home to Organix which is a vegan friendly market. It is also where our favorite cheat day donut shop (Donut Friend) is located. If donuts aren't your thing, right next door is a location of Scoops ice-cream. Scoops always has two or three vegan friendly flavors which are soy based.

Zoya- Cruelty Free and Vegan Nail Polish

I've been having some trouble with nail polish lately. I have a few favorite brands such as Butter London and Sparitual that I've been using for awhile. I still love both brands but with Butter London in particular, the polish seems to get thick and dry up pretty quickly. I've also tried Inglot which is a breathable nail polish. Unfortunately, you can only use Inglot with other Inglot products or else it bubbles. Pacifica also makes vegan polish in a small selection of pretty colors. I only wish it wasn't quite so thin. These polishes are all great options but each one lacks just a little.

Quick and Easy Vegan Chicken Parm

I've started to realize lately just how versatile Gardein veggie proteins are. Thanks to brands like this, us vegans can eat all of the things everyone else does cruelty free and without the cholesterol. I've always loved chicken farm and this veggie version still has all the flavor. It quick and easy and only requires a few ingredients.
